Working Together

In many cases, the services and partnerships that serve refugees lead to benefits for the entire community, as refugees add their gifts to the mix, and receiving communities find new ways to work together.

“Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.”

– Hebrews 13:2

COMMUNITY OF WELCOME RESOURCES

Neighbors Together

This Welcoming America toolkit provides promising practices to counter anti-refugee and anti-Muslim backlash and work towards a positive vision for our communities. These promising practices demonstrate how building meaningful contact between diverse populations, positive communications strategies, and engaging civic and community leaders can help create a climate in which all people can thrive.

My Neighbor Is Muslim

This study guide was created by LIRS (Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service) for local congregations or other discussion groups to open up a much needed dialogue and build understanding about Islam in local churches and communities.
